Karl is a technology, IPR and gambling lawyer. His main areas of expertise are intellectual property protection and litigation, land-based and remote gambling, corporate governance, corporate restructuring and contract drafting and negotiation.

He graduated Doctor of Laws in 2011 from the University of Malta following defense of his thesis entitled ‘The Remote Gaming Regulations 2004 and Suggested Improvements by Reference to Local and Foreign Legislation’. He was a finalist for the Malta Lotteries and Gaming Authority’s “Best Gaming Research Dissertation Award” in that same year.

Karl is also involved in local youth politics and is currently the Officer for Youth Organisations of the Malta National Youth Council. He is a strong advocate for young people taking a more active role in society.

Karl’s interests include political strategy and political campaign management. He is a fitness enthusiast, an avid reader and a fairly proficient poker player.

He speaks fluent English, Italian and Maltese.
